Thoughts on 9/11 - Visiting New York City and The Oculus at the World Trade Center - A Personal Post

Every September 11th, the skylight at The Oculus at the World Trade Center is aligned with the sun's path in the sky. Earlier this year, we visited the inside of what Architectural Digest called the "organic form." We all have memories of where we were on that day in 2001 or, if we were too young to remember, inherited memories from others. 

For myself, I learned to rely on the kindness of strangers to get home, to not take life and safety for granted... What shifted that day is that we had a "before" and an "after" in this country and it was felt in both a personal sense among my friends and family and globally. With this image -- and with love and remembrance -- I tried to respectfully capture that "before and after" shift that occurred in a single moment of time as it did 18 years ago today.
