Kelly + Robert @ Martin Johnson House Scripps UCSD - La Jolla, California

"How do we come to be here next to each other in the night; Where the stars that show us to our inevitable." -June Jordan

He's the only one who makes her blue eyes sparkle brighter than the California sky and she's the only who could make him smile the way true love is supposed to. And you could say it was in the stars because they have the same birthday down to the exact year. You could also say it was a modern day romance worthy of Hollywood because their first Tinder date was their last. You could say it was fate because her sister got engaged the very same day they met.

You could say it a million different ways but it comes down to this: Robert and Kelly were meant to be together. How they came to be together that fateful night, waiting in line for a movie talking about love and yoga, was a result of an app and its algorithms... with a little help from the universe.

Never ones to shy away from adventure, Kelly and Robert decided to take on the world -- literally traveling 26,000+ miles around the world to visit her family in Hawaii and multiple places in Europe and across the country. It's been said that love makes one bold. They reveled in their boldness together to create an awesome, rock-star worthy world tour. During their ceremony, Bill Murray was quoted:

If you have someone that you think is The One, don't do… don’t just sort of think in your ordinary mind, 'Okay, let's make a date. Let's plan this and make a party and get married.' Take that person and travel around the world. Buy a plane ticket for the two of you to travel all around the world, and go to places that are hard to go to and hard to get out of. And if when you come back to JFK, when you land in JFK, and you're still in love with that person, get married at the airport.”

Robert and Kelly proved Bill Murray right. Although they held off getting married in JFK and, lucky for all of us, decided to stay close to home in the amazing La Jolla, California.

The day began at the beautiful Estancia La Jolla Hotel + Spa with fantastic coordination from Melissa of I Do Weddings + Events.
Boots + Bling? My kinda bachelorette!

A California bride from Hawaii without sunglasses at her wedding? Never.
On the other side of town, Robert and Luis shared some laughs and smiles with my second shooter and awesome husband, Charles.

With a little help from his brother, the groom's shoes were ready to shine…
I love that Robert and Kelly are the older brother/sister that will always look over and help their younger sibling even on their wedding day…

Kelly's father is a craftsman who created this wonderful "love box" where Robert and Kelly put in letters to remind them of this special day.
The youngest and cutest member of the wedding party crew waiting to begin his duties for his tio Bob.

Kelly + Robert, as you two return from your 26,000th mile of traveling together, please know that Charles and I enjoyed -- and were honored to -- capture this very wonderful wedding for you both!
